AHS is a queer woman-led business.
I partner with organizations like yours that make the world a better place: more just and equitable. I design communications strategies with a focus on clarity, empathy, and data.
I’ve supported my clients to expand their reach, boost revenue, create new brands, navigate transitions, and more. My ability to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities helps me to solve tough problems and set my clients apart.
Founder & Principal Consultant
My name is Alexa Hassink (she/her). I have 15 years of strategic communications and impact experience, including in senior leadership roles on both the nonprofit and agency side. I’ve partnered with nonprofits, foundations, UN agencies, and mission-driven corporate partners across 55 countries.
I’ve supported an organization through 5x growth and catalyzed a 20% revenue increase. I have shaped stories in outlets from The New York Times to Teen Vogue, and have presented at the Sustainable Brands Conference, Women Deliver, and the UN Commission on the Status of Women.
In my consulting practice, I've developed communications strategies to prevent childhood sexual violence, established a digital marketing function to grow training for progressive leaders, renamed and rebranded a national Summit for nonprofit and philanthropic leaders, and more.
Before founding Alexa Hassink Strategies, I served as the Director of Partnerships & Strategic Communications for a woman-owned, LGBTQ-managed, purpose-driven creative agency (based in New York), and as the Director of Marketing & Communications for an international nonprofit (based in Washington, DC) focused on gender equality, gender-based violence prevention, and healthy masculinity, with offices in 5 countries.
I served as a Health Educator with the Peace Corps in Morocco, and hold a BA in Communications & Psychology from the University of Delaware.
