Founder & Principal Consultant
My name is Alexa Hassink (she/her). I bring a decade of senior leadership experience in strategic communications for social impact. I’ve led strategies and initiatives for nonprofits, foundations, and UN agencies across 55 countries, with a focus on gender, equity, and human rights.
I help purpose-driven teams approach their communications with intention, clarity, and confidence. My ability to identify patterns, opportunities, and solutions helps me set my clients apart. Some examples of my work, I’ve:
Built and led a nonprofit’s communications through 5x staffing growth, increasing their audience by 20% annually
Catalyzed a B Corp’s 20% revenue increase, in one year
Collaborated to build an organization’s brand-new digital marketing function to sustain training for social justice leaders
Led human-centered, participatory communications strategy, renaming, and brand messaging work with organizations in the US, Lebanon, Rwanda, & Indonesia
Founded and led a social impact communicator’s ‘best practices’ networking group, representing 25+ organizations
Shaped stories in outlets from The New York Times to Teen Vogue
Presented at the Sustainable Brands Conference, Women Deliver, and the UN Commission on the Status of Women
Before founding Alexa Hassink Strategies, I served as the Director of Partnerships & Strategic Communications for a purpose-driven creative agency (based in New York), and as the Director of Marketing & Communications for an international nonprofit (based in Washington, DC) focused on gender equality and healthy masculinity, with offices in 5 countries. I served as a Health Educator with the Peace Corps in Morocco, and hold a BA in Communications & Psychology from the University of Delaware.
